Dave is married to Zana. They were married on May 25, 1974. Their children are Jessica and Jonathan (Melanie) and their grandchildren are Alayna, Zane, Paxton and Canaan Coile.
Dave was baptized at the Cuba Avenue church of Christ in Alamagordo, New Mexico. Zana was baptized at the East Frayser church of Christ by Brother John Simpson. Dave served as a deacon at East Frayser and Raleigh and became an elder at Bartlett Woods on September 8, 2002. He had to step down for health reasons in February of 2023. He resumed his duties as an elder on May 19, 2024.
Dave served in the United States Air Force and the Tennessee Air National Guard. He worked at Kimberly Clark for 17 years and retired from FedEx after 25 years.
Dave has been on mission trips to Christmas Island and the Solomon Islands in the Pacific and to Costa Rica and Poland. He also loves working on Vacation Bible School each year.
