Bartlett Woods Church of Christ Announcements


On Sunday, August 31st, we will have Mission Sunday at Bartlett Woods. There will be a report from the mission trips taken this summer presented during the morning worship service. A meal prepared by our Kitchen Krew will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the morning service. The cost is $6 per person, with no charge for children 10 years old and younger. There will be a short devotional service at 5:30 PM for those who need to partake of the Lord’s Supper.

This Sunday, August 31st, the “Hope of Glory” Bible class, taught by Ed Sills and Greg Artz, will meet in the auditorium. (The Fellowship Hall will be set up for the meal.)

The Lads to Leaders Kickoff is next Sunday, September 7th, following the morning worship service for all involved children and adults. There will be a luncheon before the informational meeting. There is a sign-up sheet for the lunch.

This year the procedure for tuning in the Lads to Leaders registration forms will be a little different than the last few years. They are available now on the table outside of the Lads to Leaders Room (#117). Please fill out the forms and have them ready to turn in on Kickoff day, September 7th.

AGAPE is in need of several items. If you can help with any of these, please see Todd or Leigh Ruston. 2 Cribs; 1 Bookshelf; 2 Twin Beds with mattresses and box springs. They are also asking for any type of coupons (grocery, cleaning supplies, etc.). If you would like to bring coupons, please leave them in a box at the Welcome Center.

Life Line Screening will be at Bartlett Woods on Saturday, September 6 from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM. Pre-Registration is required. Please call 1-800-324-1851 to schedule an appointment. Also, this year Wellness First will be offering B-12 and Pneumonia vaccines. The cost for the B-12 vaccine is $20.00 and the Pneumonia vaccine is $30.00. Wellness First does accept Medi-Care and they will file the claim for the vaccinations. No appointment is necessary to receive the vaccinations.

The Harding University Graduate School of Religion invites everyone to join them as they honor Dr. John & Dorothy Simpson for their 58 years of ministry. The celebration event and dinner is September 20, 2008, at 6:00 PM at the Holiday Inn on Central across from the University of Memphis. Seating will be limited and there is no charge for dinner. The event is suitable for adults and children over 16. There is a sign-up in the adult Bible classes today for those who plan to attend. Sam Lipe and Jeff Hughey will be riding in the "Rock n Roll FEDEX MS 150" in September. This150 mile bike ride is a primary fund-raising event to support the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The donations will go directly to the Mid-South Chapter, which provides support to those living with this difficult disease, like our own JoAnne Keith and Sam's brother-in-law, David Daws.
